May 4th was World Pilates day and from a simple post on Facebook the love for Pilates and the Pilates Near Me Community came flooding in. Here are just a handful of wonderful comments received:
'Pilates has worked wonders for me. I have regained flexibility that I thought was long gone. I can’t thank you enough! It’s fun too and has been a great way to meet new people after moving to the area. Your classes are a real bedrock of our communities!'
'Happy Palates day to you too, thank you for your wonderful classes near me, you have changed my life, your encouragement enthusiasm skill care and personal interest is so important to me, its also a wonderful social group, I too recommend your classes , thank you so much!'
'So I love pilates because...no pain in my hip at night, no back pain!!!, no seat-bone pain ruining car journeys longer than 40mins, sneaky sneezes no longer catch me out (what, tmi?, but you asked ), stronger core, better balance, straighter!!! And then there's my friends. The ones I've made there. And the ones I knew before. I'm always made to feel welcome. Always a friendly word. Folk who are kind and thoughtful. Who pretty much know with a glance if you're up or down. Folk who always have a few mins to exchange a few words. It all just fits together to make my week so much better. Is that community? So many comments were people loving how stronger, taller (better alignment), flexible and generally healthier they feel.
The social aspect also came through strongly.
I just can't emphasise enough how pilates is for everyone and as long as you follow my two basic rules:
1) Listen to your body.
2) Breath, regardless of if you breath in when you should have breathed out!
You will be absolutely fine.
So take that hard first step, book a class. I promise you will get a warm welcome.
